Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager to lead and oversee the closure of one of our bank branches and facilitate a large-scale migration project. This is a critical role within the IT infrastructure team, responsible for ensuring seamless project execution in line with the bank's strategic goals, while maintaining operational stability and security during the transition.
Key Responsibilities:
End-to-end management of the branch closure and IT infrastructure migration project, ensuring timely delivery within scope, budget, and quality standards.
Act as the central point of contact between IT, business units, and external vendors, ensuring that all key stakeholders are informed and aligned throughout the project lifecycle.
Identify, assess, and manage risks associated with branch closure and data migration, including regulatory compliance, data protection, and operational continuity.
Oversee the decommissioning of physical and digital assets from the closing branch, ensuring secure data handling and proper disposition of IT equipment.
Develop and implement detailed migration plans, including network infrastructure, server relocation, and application transfers.
Manage change control processes and communicate effectively with all impacted business units and IT teams to ensure smooth transitions with minimal disruption to daily operations.
Collaborate with external vendors, service providers, and internal teams for system migrations, ensuring resources are efficiently utilized and project timelines are adhered to.
Provide regular status updates to senior management and stakeholders, documenting key project milestones, risks, and mitigations.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
Proven experience in infrastructure project management within the banking/financial services sector, particularly on branch closures or similar large-scale migrations.
Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and data center management.
Demonstrated experience with change management, risk mitigation, and stakeholder engagement at all levels of the business.
Familiarity with data migration, cloud technologies, and disaster recovery strategies.
Understanding of relevant banking regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, FCA regulations).
Excellent communication and leadership skills with a strong focus on attention to detail and problem-solving.
Project Management certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, or Agile methodologies would be advantageous.
