Our client, a family run business that has ran for 2 decades, based in Glasgow is looking for a talented Head of People. The organisation has grown to be one of the largest nursing and care staffing businesses, who operate across the UK. Due to their success, and future growth plan, they are looking for someone enthusiastic and passionate to join them on their next chapter.
The Head of People will be responsible for all HR and recruitment operations across the company. Salary £40K to £50K DOE and hybrid working option available.
The Role
You would be tasked with providing strategic management of the HR dept, planning, developing and implementing HR policies, programs and practices, and providing board level policy advice on HR generally and specifically on recruitment, reward and talent management.
Responsibilities will include regularly reviewing the effectiveness of HR and recruitment processes, project managing the delivery of key HR initiatives, plus working in partnership with line managers to provide advice, develop recruitment practices, establish individual objectives and identify training needs. This is a key role in helping facilitate the achievement of business objectives and driving forward organisational performance.
Key responsibilities
Lead, develop and promote people strategy across the business
Develop and manage recruitment strategies for roles across the Group to ensure headcount meets demand
Lead professional development frameworks across all business
Manage and develop HR policy to ensure it meets and supports the business's objectives
Provide support and advice to managers in all aspects of HR and recruitment
Lead on workforce engagement and feedback practices and procedures
Manage budgets and spending within agreed levels
Prepare and present workforce analytics and operational data
Use administrative and IT systems effectively and promote continuous improvement
The Candidate
The role will suit an influential HR professional, CIPD qualified with significant experience working at a senior level and providing a first-class HR and recruitment service within firms of c.100+ employees. You must be able to demonstrate up to date knowledge of employment law and a thorough understanding of employment issues including absence management, disciplinary and grievances etc, plus experience training and coaching line managers.
You will be an intelligent individual, well organised and hardworking, with a flexible, proactive and diplomatic approach plus excellent problem-solving skills. You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a proven ability to build relationships at many levels.
Key Skills
HR professional with 5+ years management experience, ideally in health or social care
Appropriate professional qualifications and memberships (CIPD)
Broad commercial experience
Experience of developing and managing recruitment programs at scale - high volume over a UK wide area
