Location: Ealing - With requirement to work from any of EACH's locations
Salary: £45,864 - £52,959 per annum, DOE
Contract: Full-time, permanent - 37.5 hours

EACH provides a range of specialist services to individuals and families affected by mental health, domestic violence and alcohol and substance misuse issues.
Head of Counselling & Practice - The Role
We are looking for a Head of Counselling and Practice to join our Senior Management Team to ensure that our services are effective, of high quality and safe. Based at our Ealing centre, you will work across other sites as required.
You will provide leadership, clinical and managerial input and direction across EACH Counselling and Support to ensure its client work is of high quality, person-centered and needs-led.
To lead on development and oversight of trainee/volunteer counsellors' and peer volunteering programmes and provide clinical supervision and reflective practice to develop clinical skill
Key Responsibilities;
Oversee and ensure smooth running of trainee/counsellor volunteering and peer-led
Responsible for clinical governance work, including internal meetings, clinical audits, actions and reporting on progress.
Develop and organise annual programme of practice-based trainings and learning
Provide clinical direction, support and guidance to ensure services across EACH are safe, pro-active and of high standard and take steps to address any gaps
Recruit and manage external clinical supervisors and ensuring adequate supervision of counsellors
Provide clinical supervision and annual appraisals, and reflective practice as required
Keep up to date or create policies and procedures relevant to maintain and continually improve clinical practice and therapeutic work in line with BACP and other professional bodies
Provide direction and management to the clinical work within EACH's social enterprise (Life Therapies), including assessments, allocations, clinical supervision
Hold and manage an appropriate small caseload where appropriate, including conducting assessments, care-planning, reviews and planned discharges
Where appropriate, staff may be asked to work at EACH's projects in the different centres.
Staff may also be required to work hours additional to contracted hours, for which time off in lieu will be given.
Contribute to the development and implementation of new initiatives and new areas of work aligned to organisational strategy and ambitions

Head of Counselling & Practice - What we need from you
Skills, Experience & Qualifications;
Registration & Accreditation as a counsellor with BACP/UKCP/BPS/BABCP/NCPS etc
Qualified to provide clinical supervision
Evidence of relevant CPD
Line management experience or experience of supervising work of other staff/volunteers within the health and social care or voluntary sector
Experience of working within service level agreements and contracts
Experience of providing structured counselling/psychotherapy within a recognised framework in a relevant field - e.g. substance misuse, domestic abuse, trauma, mental health
Experience of (or competency to) providing clinical supervision
Experience of developing and delivering training sessions, workshops
Experience of positive and effective team working
Experience of working as a clinical practitioner with people from diverse social, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
Knowledge and experience dealing with safeguarding issues and appropriate responses
