Connect Appointments is currently seeking an experienced Factory Manager to join our client's team in Shildon. This is a permanent opportunity to take the lead in a well-established manufacturing environment, managing a small team and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

What's on offer:

• Competitive salary: £30,000 to £35,000 (depending on experience)
• Permanent, full-time position (40 hours per week)
• Regular hours (Monday to Friday - no weekends!)

Key responsibilities as a Factory Manager:

• Manage daily production schedules to meet targets and deadlines
• Allocate work and lead a team of 5-7 production operatives
• Operate and oversee the use of woodworking machinery (beam saws, edge banders, etc.)
• Check incoming deliveries for accuracy and completeness
• Maintain a clean, organised, and Health & Safety-compliant workspace
• Ensure all staff wear appropriate PPE and follow safety procedures
• Contribute to a productive and positive working environment

What we're looking for:

• Proven experience in a factory or workshop management role
• Hands-on knowledge of beam saws, edge banders, and similar equipment
• Basic understanding of CNC machines (preferred but not essential)
• Strong team leadership and organisation skills
• Attention to detail, especially in managing production and inventory
• Forklift licence preferred but not essential
• Health & Safety conscious with a proactive approach
