We are looking to recruit an Estimator to work for a thriving business based in Dudley. They will ideally have a minimum of 1 years estimating experience in a construction or joinery-based role. The role will report into the Sales & Office Manager.
The main duties will be:
o Prepare high quality quotations by evaluating enquiries, drawings, specifications, and related documents
o Understand technical capabilities and product suitability with regards to environment and specification
o Identify labour, material, and time requirements by studying enquiries, drawings, specifications, and related documents
o Deal with inbound telephone & counter sales enquiries as required
o Review and where necessary, liaise with relevant business delivery departments (CAD, Contracts and Production) ensuring proposed contracts can be fulfilled technically, operationally, and commercially
o Obtain quotations from external suppliers
o Ensure all tenders have full and complete electronic files
o Ensure tender requirements / submission dates are met
o Have awareness of competitor movements in terms of pricing or ranges promoted
o Effective follow up of tenders / quotations of interest e.g., live contracts and / or jobs of significant value or opportunity
o Liaise with and build relationships with customers internal and external
o Maintain and expand technical knowledge by attending any company provided training as required
Qualifications & skills required for job role:
o Minimum of 1 years Estimating experience in a Construction or Joinery based role
o Understanding of Technical and Construction Drawings
o Excellent written & verbal communication skills along with strong computing skills (Word & Excel)
o Keen attention to detail
o Ability to interface directly and effectively with customers & work colleagues
