Pulse are looking to hire a Document Controller on a full time, permanent basis. Based at their facility in Wokingham. The primary objective of this role is to oversee Document Control, ensuring the efficient management of project documentation in line with Client specifications and contract requirements, while consistently safeguarding the best interests of AIS.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Management and maintenance of the project Document Control systems, registers, and Master Document and Drawings Register, to project and contract specification
- Provide the necessary briefings and dialogue for project personnel to ensure best practice in management of document control is implemented in accordance with contract requirements and to agreed procedures
- Assist in the maintenance and development of the Project Document Control procedure and Client Document Bridging procedure, and where required assist and advise project and Client personnel in their use.
- Establish and maintain project filing systems for reports, forms and documents where kept in hard copy.
- Monitor and report progress of document and drawing development and review, highlighting overdue documents and drawings.
- Prepare and submit summary document progress reports as required
- Liaise with Project Manager, Lead Engineer, Quality Managers, Operations Team, Sales Team and Project HSE Advisor on a daily basis providing feedback and highlighting any areas of concern.
- Ensure maintenance of contemporary records of all site engineering activities, client instructions and variations and liaise with others in the project team where necessary to ensure that project commercial/contractual interests are maximized and/or protected as circumstances develop on project.
- Understand and comply with contract reporting procedures.
- Assist with troubleshooting as may be required.
Requirements
- 2 years of relevant experience working within engineering, construction/subsea/marine construction environment
- Fluent in English speaking, writing and reading capability
- Experience with document control systems and software (Aconex, SharePoint)
- Proficient in the application of computer-based control systems
- Familiar with relevant national and international codes and standards
- Ability to work under your own initiative and as part of a team is essential
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft office suite, SharePoint (or similar)
- Be able to communicate effectively with peers and project stakeholders at all levels
