Commercial and Contracts Manager

Location: Hybrid Working (two days a week office based Bradford)
Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday Friday.

Commercial Services are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.
The Commercial and Contract Manager is responsible for overseeing all financial and contractual aspects of contracted works on their Programme Delivery sub-programme.
This includes developing project budgets, negotiating with Contract Partners and suppliers, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, evaluating financial risks and ensuring financial success by overseeing the financial aspects of the contracts.
They will also be responsible for supporting the Manager of Commercial in developing and implementing commercial strategies and identifying new commercial opportunities.
The Commercial and Contract Manager will work closely with the Capital Delivery Programme Manager to optimise contract performance and deliver contracts within budget and on schedule.
Additionally, they will develop and implement contract administration, risk assessment, and procurement strategies to support the successful completion of projects and will provide guidance and support in aspects such as risk management, cost control, budget control.

Procurement and contract strategy development and implementation
Development and implementation of key commercial controls
Cost assurance pre and post contract
Change control assurance
Contract administration assurance
Supply chain strategic development and control
What skills & qualifications you will need:
Commercial acumen and commercial advisory expertise
Extensive commercial knowledge of allocation of risks and liabilities
Extensive knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts
More than 10 years commercial experience
Professional qualification, or working to a professional qualification associated with the role
Ability to work with all stakeholders, provide guidance and support key decision commercial outcomes that benefit Programme Delivery
You will also benefit from having:
Detailed understanding and usage of Framework Agreements
Experience of working within the water/utilities sector
Knowledge and expertise associate with developing commercial processes and procedures
Strong interpersonal skills
We embrace a flexible working model, where our hybrid setup typically requires an average of 2 to 3 days in the office or on-site per week . This could be slightly more when collaborative efforts, training or meeting deadlines demand it. For those who prefer to work on-site, our office is open Monday-Friday during working hours.
