We are recruiting for a Class 1 driver to joing our clients logistics team
The role will involve driving Class 1 Skip Vehicles.
Collect and transport proiduct in a safe manner ensuring the correct netting and security procedures are followed at all times.
Tip product at the required site/s in a safe manner ensuring it is always tipped in line with instructions in the correct location.
Ensure adherence to any safety procedures and other operational requirements in place at customer’s sites.
Safely operate machinery as required, in line with rules of usage and only if trained to do so. Ensure correct use of equipment for the job and any defects are reported following company procedure.
Ensure amiable and effective relations with customers and staff .
Comply with relevant work instructions as indicated by line management.
Ensure security of vehicles and any other property within job holder’s control.
Ensure Safety of people, equipment, plant, and vehicles within jobholder’s area of control. .
Liaise with line management and advise of any factors affecting operations, observed, or commented upon by customers making any suggestions which may improve efficiency or service.
Ensure legal requirements are complied with by following the work instructions provided, as indicated by line management.
Complete daily documentation ensuring that the necessary information is recorded fully and legible and submit all documents daily to the relevant people or as indicated by line management.
Prepare Tachograph Disc, as required by law, and ensure that hours and working arrangements are within WTD legal limits.
Carry out Driver's maintenance checks correctly, at the correct intervals, and report all vehicle equipment/container faults immediately by approved system.
Report any accident affecting vehicles, equipment, self or third parties to your line Manager at once. Complete necessary forms fully.
Report as soon as possible impending prosecutions of self to your line Manager immediately.
Hold a current HGV driving licence relevant for the class of vehicle being driven and notify the company immediately of any issues that will affect your ability to hold the licence.
Key Skills and Competencies
A good knowledge of local and national roads
Hold a clean UK driving License
Have a valid Class 1 license and CPC record
Be able to work independently
Basic knowledge of computers and ability to use SAT NAV systems
Ability to work well under pressure.
Your normal working hours will be in line with the working time regulations for Class 1 drivers. You will be required to work Monday to Friday.
Salary £38,978 pa
