Join Gregory Distribution as a Business Continuity Planner to guarantee that business continuity planning is embraced as part of the organisational culture whilst making sure plans are developed, reviewed, and tested based on a risk assessment schedule. This role is based on a 12-month secondment.
The position of Business Continuity Planner involves:
Identify and make recommendations for change and improvement to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery practices remain aligned to business needs.
Support the design, planning and delivery of workshops, training, exercises, and presentations to a range of staff within operational teams, to promote effective business continuity and resilience planning.
To prepare a monthly report outlining performance from the operational teams on adherence to project timelines as well as set up and record project timelines, records, and actions.
To design a maintenance programme for the business continuity plans going forward.
Develop processes and protocols covering the translation of business priorities into practical and actionable business continuity for all areas of the business and disaster recovery plans.
Provide support to and work with a range of depot managers and central functions to achieve the effective delivery of a business continuity plan for their operational area.
To chair & lead operational meetings to ensure project & information is delivered.
Desirable skills required for Business Continuity Planner:
Level 4 or above qualification in either Business Continuity, Emergency planning, Risk Management, Business management or similar discipline. Working experience within a logistics business.
Proven experience in the logistics industry, or demonstrable transferable skill set from an alternative industry.
Knowledge of BCP professional practices as well as understanding of data analytical and reporting concepts helpful. Knowledge of Operational Resilience is an added advantage.
Essential skills required for Business Continuity Planner:
Be able to demonstrate administrative and project management skills.
Organisational skills and the ability to manage and prioritise work to comply with agreed deadlines and with minimal supervision.
Ability to break down complex problems into simple terms, document findings in a manner that is understandable to someone who is not a Subject Matter Expert
Well-developed problem-solving and organisational skills.
Able to build and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels.
A current driving licence and ability to stay away from home if required. You may be required to travel to different sites within the Gregory Group.

Salary for Business Continuity Planner is £30,000pa to £35,000pa depending on experience. This is a 12 month contract.
Hours of work are: Monday to Friday 8:30 - 17:00.
