About the Role
We're looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Mitcham, CR4. In this role, you'll provide essential support to students with special educational needs (SEN), working closely with our teaching staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Support:
- Provide individual or small group assistance to support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
- Encourage independent learning through structured activities and tailored guidance.
- Foster a nurturing environment that builds students' confidence and self-esteem.
Classroom Assistance:
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons tailored to meet the unique needs of our students.
- Help maintain an organised, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
- Monitor and report on student progress, offering insights to the teaching team.
Additional Duties:
- Support students during transitions, breaks, and school activities.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions.
- Uphold the school's commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
About You
We're seeking someone who is:
- Experienced: You have experience working with children, ideally in an SEN setting.
- Knowledgeable: You understand safeguarding and child protection practices.
