Responsibilities:
Manage the gym team to ensure a high level of motivation and delivery of a quality service at all times for members and guests across all aspects of the fitness department
Oversee the delivery of gym inductions, new programmes, and new joiner welcome phone calls by working with the Head Personal Trainer
Ensure members and guests receive a friendly and consistent personalised service from all team members at all times
Recruit and manage the Gym Team, through target setting and performance management
Ensure all equipment and facilities are checked daily and in full working order reporting any issues to maintenance or Life Fitness, and to follow up any reports until fixed
Ensure all day to day operational procedures including SOPs and EAPs are adhered to by self and team
Produce the fitness team rota ensuring that staffing levels meet the business demands in a timely manner
Manage and ensure accurate records are kept for all annual leave, lieu days and shift swaps for self and team, and take responsibility for payroll
Use the set procedures in place to keep the studio class timetable running
Ensure that class instructors are qualified, able to teach competently and offer customer service at the level that meets our clubs requirements.
To regularly update and monitor booking and appointment system to ensure maximum productivity and elimination of mistakes which could cause inconvenience and dissatisfaction to clients.
Ensure health, safety and COSHH regulations are complied with by self and team and that club rules are observed by members and guests. Ensure all paperwork and forms are completed with regards to incidents and accidents. Report any risks to the Health and Safety Officer
Monitor feedback and respond accordingly, and handle any client complaints effectively and promptly, ensuring a senior manager is involved and updated to all feedback negative and positive
Instil brand values and standards into fitness team to maintain quality on a daily basis
Ensure members and guests receive a friendly and consistent personalised service from all team members at all times
Supporting the other leisure departments when necessary
Requirements:
Certified fitness professional with recognized qualifications
Previous experience in a Leisure management or fitness center leadership role, with a proven track record of success
Strong leadership and team management abilities, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with members, guests, and colleagues
Knowledge of fitness equipment, exercise techniques, and industry trends
CPR and First Aid certification required
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by business needs
