Are you a talented individual with a strong finance background, looking to progress your career within a global household name. Our client, a leading manufacturing organisation is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their Finance Team.
Reporting into the Financial Controller, this is an excellent opportunity to gain hands on knowledge and experience across the full range of accounting that is required to run a manufacturing facility. This will cover both commercial and financial accounting, ranging from forecasting, driving cost improvements to month end reporting and journals. You will have exposure to project accounting and working closely with the management team to understand and drive cost reduction initiatives and be part of a finance team that is passionate about challenging assumptions and driving change.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide support for all CAPEX & Fixed Asset related activities, including financial validation, AUC balance management, and accurate Fixed Asset Register.
Drive cost improvements by challenging assumptions and actively participating in cost-saving improvement projects.
Analyse factory costs and provide visibility and forecasts through accurate reporting and dynamic forecasting processes.
Contribute to the month-end process, including journals, reconciliations, and reporting.
Identify and promote cost reduction initiatives to the Financial Controller and management team.
Lead business planning activities by developing forecasts, revisions, and simulations.
Identify cost improvement opportunities through financial insight and benchmarking.
Support the Financial Controller in implementing best practises for internal controls.
Key Skills & experience required:
Part qualified Accountant
Proven Finance background with a strong desire to learn and develop.
Excellent problem-solving skills and innovative thinking that will enable you to find creative solutions.
Attention to detail and understanding of broader business strategies.
Excellent communication skills and the confidence in influencing stakeholders at all levels and building positive relationships.Please note this role is 5 days on site.
