Fantastic opportunities have become available within a reputable expanding agricultural accountancy firm in Taunton! If you are looking to start your career as soon as possible, this position combines the benefit of paid employment, with support towards training in the Association of Accounting Technicians qualification. Upon completion of your apprenticeship, we offer the prospect to continue your training undertaking your choice of ACA, ATT or ACCA. There is plenty of opportunity for progression, but our clients practice is small enough that you will be an integral cog from day one. There is a variety of work to support our core client base of agricultural focussed business including not only the preparation of accounts but also VAT, wages and tax to name but a few.
Enable Futures are operating as an employment business on behalf of its client and recruiting for X2 Accounting Apprentice to work based from Taunton, Somerset for a friendly, well established and market-leading accountancy firm! Our client are looking for two enthusiastic individuals to support their busy accounting team with the aim of becoming a member of the AAT. You should be well organised, dependable, proactive and able to take the initiative while enjoying working within a friendly team.
The working hours are Monday-Friday 36.5 hour per week. Full time with study leave entitlement. The annual salary is £18,000 -£22,000 per annum DOE.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assisting in the preparation of accounts by completing the working papers
· Dealing with book keeping and subsequent submission of VAT Returns
· Assisting with the preparation of tax returns
· Handling payroll systems that calculate wages and salaries
· Using computerised accounting systems
· Helping qualified accountants with accounts inspections (audits)
· Taking telephone calls and passing on messages
· Working as part of a team to ensure the delivery of excellent service to clients
· Undertake any other duties that may be required from time to time
Experience, attributes & skills sought:
A minimum of 5 GCSE’s including Maths and English
A minimum of 2 A Levels (at grade A* - B)
· Numerate (desirable but not essential)
· Agricultural connection is desirable but not essential
· Be flexible and prepared to help others when needed
· Excellent IT skills – Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook
· Ability to multitask and to work accurately and effectively under pressure
· Professional and confident telephone manner
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent time management skills
· Ability to work in a team
· Should have attention to detail
· Committed to studying
