Having worked in the public and private sector, as well as a volunteering role in a developing country, I have a wide range of experience with testing, hearing aids/assistive listening devices, patients and operating systems. I have previously worked with both auditbase and practice navigator systems, as well as stand-alone testing machines and am proficient in pure tone audiometry, tympanometry, tuning fork testing, acoustic reflexes, ULL testing, OAE testing, ABR testing, speech recognition and word recognition testing, play audiometry, masking, impression taking, hearing aid and mould repairs/modifications, ENG testing, caloric irrigation, posturography and on-going aftercare in all sectors. I am very competent at patient history taking, appropriate referrals, report writing and interpretation of all test results, as well as rehabilitation for hearing, speech and balance issues including VRT, Brandt-Daroff exercises and the Epley manoeuvre. I have had the opportunity to prescribe over 200 types of hearing aids including systems from Oticon, Phonak, Siemens, Widex, Starkey and GN Resound as well as assistive listening devices including remote care, and have worked both with analogue and digital hearing systems. I have also worked with speech and language rehabilitation techniques and have experience with both adults and children of all age ranges and of varying cognitive and physical abilities in audiology and speech and language therapy sectors. I have experience in domiciliary visits, clinical practice, school care, outreach care as well as teaching and lecturing on audiology and speech therapy.
