My initial background is of a clinical nature, functioning as an Operating Department Practitioner. I have obtained several competences including Management and Leadership whilst working in the NHS and Private sector. I was assigned to lead operating theatre teams in an acute high-pressured setting. This role helped manage the Trust to drive change and encourage innovative procurement practices to achieve contract compliance and product standardisation. I routinely coordinated and led on the critical appraisal of product and equipment trials. Furthermore, identifying whether improvement in patient care or cost efficiencies can be achieved through the rationalisation of products or introduction of new ones. Currently, I have transitioned along the procurement pathway into sourcing as a Procurement Manager. This high pace, strategic position is governed by regulations and compliance, stakeholder engagement at all levels, project management aspects, leading and chairing frequent meetings managing the end to end process of the sourcing cycle. The end goal is to ensure an intelligent and complaint approach has been followed in order to achieve best value and ensure continuity of value is maintained by regular contract reviews.
