I have been with Coventry City Council as an apprentice for just over a year working within Customer Services. I am employed in an administrative role supporting our internal customers i.e. Governance Support which supports the Council's Political Management Process, the Council as a whole in terms of general admin support i.e. arranging hotel accommodation, rail travel and flights etc. I also help to support St Mary's Guildhall with all of their corporate events and weddings. I have managed a number of weddings and events with support from my team and this requires exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills. It is so important that these events are a success and run smoothly, not only for the wedding party or the customer but also for the Council's reputation. I also help to manage the room bookings for the whole of the City Council through a web based system called Condeco and this includes meeting rooms in the Council House and our conferencing suite in our new purpose built building at Friargate. I thrive on new challenges and am passionate about my contribution to any organisation I work for. I am adaptable, flexible, enthusiastic and willing to learn and take on responsibility. I am very much customer focused and ensure that the customer is at the heart of everything I do. I have a "can do" attitude which helps to contribute to a positive culture within the team and encourages positive behaviours. I have been fortunate to work in a high performing team with an excellent reputation for excellent customer service and service delivery. I have learnt so much in my current role as the role is so diversified; from the routine processing of work to the face to face customer contact in respect of the events. This requires that I am able to juggle priorities by using the outlook diary, reminders, notes etc. It is important that I am proactive and need to be aware of when the team is busy or need help so I can step in and help to take the pressure off. I am organised and methodical and because of this I was asked to be part of the Condeco Project Team to support the implementation of the Condeco system and the setting up of the new meeting rooms in the new building. I was trained on the system and attended project meetings where I would contribute my thoughts and ideas and then implement what was agreed.
