Bar Person 2014 - Present

(Seasonal Work) Details: In the summer I was given the opportunity to work for one of the UK's largest music festivals. My role as bar person involved serving and exchanging money with customers, stock management and ensuring the bar area was kept clean, tidy and safe. Due to the mass crowds attending this festival, this role was very intense however I always remained calm and felt I handled the pressure well. It was important that I was confident and used my communication skills to gain good working relationships to ensure the job was completed to a high standard.

Counter Assistant 2011 - 2011

Details: My role as a counter assistant involved undertaking various tasks including communicating with customers, taking orders, cash handling and monitoring stock. This position not only improved my numeracy skills through exchanging money with customers but also enabled me to become more responsible and pro-active in that if I was working, it was imperative that I took action if any stock required ordering.

My duties involved effective team-working with colleagues to ensure the requirements of projects were achieved and creating house plans using specialised software packages including AutoCAD. This job enabled me to develop many skills vital for employment including communication and team-working skills and also my creativity skills. Employer and Details: Ballygally Castle Hotel, Ballygally, Co Antrim, BT40 2QZ Details: During my placement in Ballygally Castle Hotel, I was assigned the role of a Receptionist. My responsibilities included, greeting customers, answering and directing calls, to creating hotel publications and menus. I thoroughly enjoyed the creative aspect of this job as it enabled me to put my IT skills into action whilst also benefiting the hotel. An important skill I gained on this placement was self-management. In such a work environment, it is imperative that tasks are managed effectively and completed on time to ensure exceptional standards of the hotel are maintained.
