Company set up with co-founder Paul McMahon to initially provide a Cloud COE and Engineering function to support Vodafone in the 2020 cloud strategy we created. It has now grown to offer consultancy services to other global enterprises. Specialising in Cloud Transformation , Operating Models and Organisational Structure, Cloud best practice and reference architectures, DevOps Engineering and cloud native architecture. We also have run several RFI/RFP processes in the Telco NFV/SDN space. And designed and delivered NFV/SDN stacks based on Openstack.
We have worked with companies such as Shell, Liberty Global, Vodafone, ICE Group and others to provide true digital transformation, cloud best practice, operating model (Devops/agile), organisational structures, NFV/SDN stacks and DevOps services.

Principal Technologist in Vodafone Group Services Cloud Centre of Excellence, remit was global usage of cloud services.
Initially engaged to conduct a review of current cloud initiatives with Vodafone globally.
Helped create new Cloud COE function as Cloud Principal.
Consulted to Vodafone senior leadership team to define and sign off digital transformation strategy, roadmap, business and delivery plan. Obtained mandate to delivery new digital organisation and execute technology roadmap.

Lead Architect and Design Authority (technical and operational) for RBI’s migration of its entire web estate into the “cloud”, this was one of the largest migrations to AWS in Europe.
RBI is Europe’s largest media company, with a large portfolio of digital publications and subscription services (markets), such as ICIS, Flight Global and New Scientist. Strategic decision made to close on-premise and leased datacenters and migrate the entire web estate (600+ servers) into a cloud provider. Primary drivers being a move to an Opex costing model over Capex, reduced running costs and easier divestment and integration with a more component based design. RBI is a Microsoft shop web estate based on Windows Server, IIS, .NET and SQL Server.
Define and design elaboration and costing process for project initiation.
Define and document design and sign off process, and produce template artifacts.
Vet and recommend primary vendors and supporting solutions.

The Principal Platform and Cloud Architect within the Enterprise Architecture team at Sportingbet. One of Europe's leading Online Gambling and Casino companies, with 600 staff, 6 global offices, operating in 28 countries with an annual bets wagered of over £2 billion.
This role was to completely overhaul Sportingbet's legacy infrastructure and platform. The software platform was a mixture of Windows Server, IIS, .NET, Oracle products and third party "black box" applications. The hardware was disparate server technology. Also to define and design new delivery and governance processes
Define and design governance model for Architecture, including Scoping and High Level Design documentation and introduction of design authority.
Work closely with .NET team to rework web front end. Take advantage of Virtualisation and Cloud technologies, and largely decouple the .NET stack, simplify by moving logic into more relevant tiers and introduce a "service" model, to improve supportability and uptime.
Work closely with CTO and senior management team to discuss drivers for long term strategy.
Produce 3-5 year strategy roadmap, high level target architectures and transitional architectures.
Stakeholder and Sponsor management and communication. Work with PM's and BA's to "showcase" new technologies and programmes in business language.

Short term contract to migrate a small SaaS solution provider from in-house hosting to Amazon EC2 cloud services. This consisted of a software stack of .NET and MS SQL Server. Responsibility was full lifecycle, design, costing, testing, documentation and implementation assistance and guidance, staff training. All completed with full UAT from customer in 13 weeks.

This is one of the largest media companies in Europe with over 4500 users and 11 geographically dispersed offices. Responsible for all strategy, design and transition delivery of Infrastructure systems. This includes working with business stakeholders and technical subject matter experts to turn complex business requirements into solutions, understanding business need and activity patterns, costing solutions over 5 years to show TCO and value, keeping abreast of latest technologies and evaluating to see where they can add value to the business.
