Mentorship qualification.
Experience & Abilities
My 16 years experience working with South London and Maudsley Nhs trust, have
given me a lot of opportunities to play various roles in the care of adults with
different disabilities, ie physical, mental, homelessness and alcohol problems and

In my role as a Registered mental health nurse, I dealt with complains, planning and
delegating task to junior staff under my line management, covered sickness/absents
and attended training and Trust meetings as necessary.
I led, monitored and mentored assigned nursing students and care assistants to
deliver high quality, safe and effective care on a day-today basis. I worked
collaboratively with several Psychiatric doctors and consultants, multidisciplinary
team involving social workers, occupational therapist, patients, their relatives and
other agencies.
My management role involves the provision of annual appraisal and personal
development plans, structured in-service development programs and regular
supervision. I participated in research, audit and service improvement evaluation. I
participated in inducting new staff , supervised, appraised and taught students on
placement with the team and attended all mandatory and statutory training in line
with Trust policy.
I always got involved in provision of clinical training and educating junior staff and
other staffs in line with competency frameworks. I always maintained the importance
of skills within the team, identified gaps, then developed and implemented a plan to
address these.

and sensitive information with patients and especially where there may be barriers
to understanding. I also have the ability to provide clear, concise and objective
reports and feedback to colleagues and other members of the multi-disciplinary
team, both verbally and using computerised methods. I work in line with the trust
information governance, record keeping and confidentiality policy.
Organisational
I have flexible approach to working, prioritising and coordinating activities with other
professionals. I am able to work proactively and independently managing own
workload without direct supervision, ensuring adequate staffing level at all times and
be accountable of my professional actions.

I am aware of the NMC Code of Professional Conduct, Trust Policies and guidelines
on equal opportunities, National Service Framework, Single Assessment Process,
which are all focused on client centred care. In addition, I adhered to all professional
Guidelines, Trust policies and relevant legislations at all times with the consideration
to confidentiality. I understand the effect and commitment to equal opportunities, by
treating everyone on equal basis, without discrimination.

any other appropriate duties commensurate with the post. I have the ability to work
flexible hours and out of hours to meet the needs of the service if I am considered for
