Final year project on the evaluation of novel cannabinoid receptor type 1 (CB1R) agonists:

•  Used unknown novel compounds from the summer placement along with the other designed compounds

•  Analysed human crystallised CB1R obtained from RSCB Protein Data Bank (PDB) website using Errat plot, Ramachandran plot and Verify3D plot

•  Compared novel compounds with THC and JWH-018 using S-values, drug likeness properties and ligand interactions

Initial year individual project on the synthesis of aspirin and oil of wintergreen: •  Two methods of crystallisation, using salicylic acid to make aspirin and to synthesise oil of

wintergreen using dried aspirin •  Used melting point apparatus, titration, liquid-liquid extraction and TLC as purity tests

•  Completed initial and final proposals, methods, background research, risk assessment form and project logbook under time conditions
