I started in this new role on 19 March 2020 and completed my first week before we unfortunately went into lockdown on 23 March 2020. However, in my short time at Clayton I was able to adapt quickly to this familiar position as a Receptionist, and was immediately confident greeting visitors and answering calls. I received training for the electronic payments, ledger entries and the banking procedures. I also managed to familiarise myself with the database and filing system for the residential customers and, due to the lockdown, assisted with rearranging holiday home reservations. Unfortunately due to government guidelines, social distancing requirements, and new procedures required to be implemented at Clayton, my post was made redundant.

I am an experienced Receptionist and Administrator. I started my career in the Travel Industry arranging all types of holidays, business travel reservations and working in the Bureau de Change. Looking for a change of direction I successfully trained as a Legal Secretary working in various departments, including Court, Companies & Property which I thoroughly enjoyed until I relocated to England. I was fortunate to gain a position as a Receptionist in Local Government with both Lincolnshire County Council and the Borough of Telford & Wrekin. These Roles were within the Children & Families Directorate of Social Services, and although extremely busy and at times very challenging, they were very rewarding. Upon my return to Scotland I gained a position of Receptionist at the University of St Andrews in the Office of the Principal, College Gate where I remained until I took a family career break. After several years of voluntary work at ######## Primary School I applied for, and was successful in gaining, a position as a Pupil Support Assistant. This role was particularly suited to my personal work/life balance whilst my own children attended primary school.
