Senior Engineer - Customer Applications

As a consulting engineer, I am responsible for the delivery of engineering products in the intervention arena to support tender and early FEED activities for the company. I generate the systems required using company's standard product portfolio and identifying technology gaps that relate to customer tender documentation. Focusing on completion workovers, intervention, IWOCS, Landing Strings and X-Tree installation / retrieval and decommissioning products for the company.

I am responsible for the project management and requirement capture for all tender engineering for the product line, I have to ensure that the design and validation of the equipment will satisfy customer requirements and meets ISO or API standards, SIL, ATEX, raising Exception / Qualifications / Risks and using the design review process to seek company approval for the required equipment. I also create master equipment lists (MEL) and documents requirement lists (DRL) to enable the commercial and sourcing departments to provide accurate costings for the products. I am also responsible for the creation of all the bid documentation required to be submitted as part of the tender. I am also involved in attending meetings with the clients to discuss their requirements and present them solutions and seeking agreement on clarification / qualifications of the equipment proposed to ensure it meets their needs.

I was responsible for creating and maintaining a small team of engineers co-located to support the ITO (Inquiry to Order) stage for services engineering department. The team provided front end engineering support (FEED) to customers related to the repair and modification and bespoke engineering problems.
This role had the responsibilities in all matters relating to the organisation, budget, personal development of the team as well as be responsible for the, planning and approval of all the technical execution of quotations and customer support activities.
My team provide technical guidance to customers from their initial inquiry until to the actual order being placed, ensuring a seamless handover to the execution team. The team covered all aspects of Maintenance / Service / Field Operations and FEED reports for all XT subsea and surface equipment.

Part of the proposals department working to tight timescale and on multiple tenders, to ensure all technical content required for Subsea Wellheads and Surface Completions products is supplied to the customer to meet their requirements specified in their invitation to tender documentation.
Duties: Selecting standard parts or creating new parts required to ensure that the customer requirements are achieved. Creating the documentation required as part of bid submission. Peer review of other projects to ensure that requirements and bid documentation is correct before submittal. Supervising the draughtsman to ensure technical drawings and new concepts are clear and concise for customer presentation. Creating and maintaining the technical risk register for each project, creating FEED proposal documentation.
Meeting with customers to present the technical content of bid submission and resolving any clarifications.
