    Core crew on the Refit/commissioning of the EnQuest Producer FPSO at Blohm & Voss Hamburg and OGN Newcastle, now currently on station on the Alma/Galia field in the North Sea. Responsibilities: * Ensure that the work conditions and environment are maintained in a safe and healthy condition and ensure that all necessary precautions are taken to protect myself and other personnel during operational activities. * Control and monitor the operation and integrity of the steam plant and ancillary equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation. * Carry out quality checks on boiler demineralised water, diesel, crude oil and lubrication oils and dose with relevant chemicals as required. * Advise supervision of any issues that may lead to a reduction in power generation and advise on any actions to be taken to reduce the effects on critical equipment. * Responsible for isolations on steam plant and ancillary equipment to carry out any corrective maintenance work using ISSOW and Maximo systems

    LEAD SHIFT OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN

    Energy Recycling Ltd, Dundee ------- The company is a waste to energy power station utilising two 17Mw bubbling fluidised bed boilers burning municipal waste to produce pressurised steam for a turbine/generator set producing 10.5Mw of electricity for the site and exporting remainder to the national grid. Originally employed as a shift operations technician I was later promoted to the position of lead shift operations technician running one of the five shifts on site. Responsibilities: * The health and safety of all staff under my supervision during normal shift operations. * Taking responsibility for entire installation during weekends and outside normal day work hours responsible for communications with all parties at these times including SEPA, Scottish Hydro-Electric, Dundee City Council personnel and general public as required. * Monitoring conditions and adjustments of controls of boiler, turbine/generator set and all associated equipment to ensure continuity of power generation and waste disposal. * Recording and reporting of any exceedances of normal operational limits. * Regular routine inspection of plant and equipment, reporting equipment defects and malfunctions including any repairs or adjustments carried out. * As a senior authorised person responsible for isolations on all types of equipment including HV electrical equipment and high-pressure steam systems. * Organise and oversee DERL staff and contractors during outages and routine maintenance works.

    The company produced various types of plumbing fittings for domestic, commercial and industrial applications using modern manufacturing systems and techniques. Originally employed as a dayshift maintenance electrician I was later promoted to the position of maintenance leading hand responsible for plant projects and machine upgrades. Responsibilities: * The health and safety of all staff under my control during projects and plant upgrade work. * Electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment fault finding, PLC programming and modifications, panel wiring upgrades and assembly's, new equipment installations and commissioning work. * Oversee installation, maintenance and improvement projects on all types of production equipment.
