Summary

Gleeson are currently undergoing a period of rapid growth with IT being one of the key business support functions. We now have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our growing IT department and kickstart their career in IT. As apprentice you will deal with the day-to-day support of our IT systems working collaboratively with our IT Helpdesk team and have responsibility for handling inbound telephone calls, logging service requests and resolving 1st line tickets.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing excellent customer service in all interactions with customers
  • Taking inbound telephone calls from internal colleagues and logging issues in our Service Portal
  • Support users spread over 9 permanent sites and up to 70 temporary sites at present and currently increasing
  • Logging of all incidents both remotely and face to face
  • Resolve issues as the first point of contact whenever possible (password resets, account unlocks etc)
  • Assist with hardware build, configuration and deployment (Installation of Windows 10)
  • Windows 10 support (1st Line)
  • Office 365 (1st Line)
  • Network printer support
  • Updating/maintaining asset inventories and equipment registers
  • Active directory administration (user account setup and administration, password management)

Ideal Candidate

  • An excellent telephone manner and analytical approach to problem solving will be key to this role as you will need to log symptoms and issues to provide to the Support analysts

Main Responsibilities

Build Quality Standards

  • Provide quality time on sites to fully assess the quality of our contractors and our own trades.
  • Provide advice to the site teams on all the key stages: foundations, drainage, super structure quality, pre plaster requirements and final inspections.
  • Fully inspect properties prior to final inspection by NHBC and LABC to ensure the property is fully compliant with building regulations and standards, ensuring cover notes are issued on the first attempt.
  • Liaise with the contractors and suppliers to discuss the site demands and requirements to aid the site teams in achieving targets.

Programming

  • Assist in programme planning to a level of detail necessary for the site team to deliver the planned numbers, without delays.
  • Monitor programmes on a weekly basis acting where plots are behind programme.
  • Ensure site teams are fully compliant with Gleeson commercial procedures to ensure no delays are experienced.
  • Ensure sites teams have all resources sufficient in enabling the correct levels of production.

Health & Safety

  • By example, set the highest possible standards of leadership in promotion of HS&E procedures and best practice, ensuring compliance with Gleeson procedures and legal obligations.
  • Oversee and ensure that HSE related documents and statutory site paperwork are kept up to date and undertake senior manager site inspections, ensuring that audits are carried out.
  • Liaise with all parties to ensure the sites are fully compliant with Gleeson procedures, policies and safety standards are maintained, or exceeded.

Customer Care

  • Monitor the customer care admin platform (mygleeson) and ensure the site teams have the support in addressing all matters in a timely fashion.
  • Review final inspection sheets and assist in ensuring any found issues are addressed prior to legal completion.

  • Generally assisting in the preparation of land bids, including helping prepare land bid presentations.
  • Visiting potential sites with the land managers, recording the situation on the ground by photo/drone/notes.

  • Briefing external consultants and other departments as bids proceed, Architects, land agents and Gleeson colleagues.

  • Possess good written and verbal communication skills
  • A confident IT user with strong Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills and an ability to pick up new IT systems quickly (essential)

Main Responsibilities
