Structural Design Engineer (Construction Manufacturing)

Our client is a Globally successful construction manufacturing and construction contracting business who are opening a brand new Technical office in Birmingham (B24). We are looking for TWO Structural Design Engineers to join their Structural & Steel side of the business as their rapid growth and success continues.
Salary is negotiable depending on experience. We are more than happy to look at Graduates with time spent within the Industry or fully Chartered Engineers who can attend the projects as well as work from the office.

As our Structural Design Engineer you will be expected to:

* Continue to partake in a courses / personal development tasks as set out by the Business. Ensure continual professional development is achieved to an agreed level (Graduate Scheme in place as well as support to help you become Chartered if it is something you have started)
* Take steps to develop knowledge as outlined by your mentor to move towards membership of the ICE and ultimately chartered status
* Produce designs for the company's products to relevant codes and standards. Substantiate designs with formal calculations for internal and external review
* Assist the estimators and designers in preparing Quotation / Proposal documents and produce structural schemes as required.
* Interpretation of architects and structural engineer's drawings.
* Attend meetings without support and to speak about technical issues and promote the company. To be smart in appearance and conduct all affairs both inside and outside your normal place of work in a professional and efficient manner that promotes the Company and enhances its reputation
* Have in depth knowledge of building physics relevant to market sectors to ensure technical liaison with Architects, Engineers, specifies, contractor and approved installers on all design and technical issues
* Ensure that the requirements of CDM are followed
* Ensure that the goals and objectives of the company are exceeded

Your Duties and Responsibilities as our Structural Design Engineer

* Brief and work with designers to ensure that the engineer's schemes are correctly interpreted
* Check drawings and calculations produced by others
* Review and interpret technical drawings
* Use and develop design tools in various software packages to increase efficiency
* Participate in the engineering team's meetings - sharing experience and knowledge and putting forward improvements
* Take a proactive approach to your personal work commitments by achieving deadlines agreed with your Line Manager. Manage your work load in an effective and diligent manner, reporting all conflicts in deadlines and activities to your Line Manager in a timely fashion.
* Take responsibility for the deadlines set by both yourself and your Line Manager and demonstrate commitment to seeing works and deadlines achieved on time and in full
* Keep the customer and other involved parties in all decision making where a risk or action may be required by our team or other parties. To ensure that adequate records are kept of all communications with external companies in accordance with company protocol
* Maintaining the satisfaction of existing clients and development of new skills and services in accordance with the company business needs. Develop customer relations and develop strategic partnership
* Keep the manager informed of changing situations and progress in achieving tasks and respond promptly to requests for information both internally and externally
* Work with Line Manager to develop a culture which addresses the root cause analysis of Engineering related ENCR's
* Carry out any other duties that may be required to provide technical support for the KSBS products.

Experience and Skills You Will Have For Your Role:

* A Qualification in a relevant Engineering Degree
* Demonstrate sound reasoning, engineering judgement and problem solving skills
* A sound knowledge and experience of working on load-bearing structures, off-site prefabricated structures and light gauged steel frame.
* Working knowledge and experience in using Euro codes and British standards
* Be aware of the requirement to work as part of a team. Adopt a flexible approach to workload whilst demonstrating a willingness to take on additional work. Deliver administrative records on time and up to date
* Clearly and concisely express key issues at a level that suits the listener and confidently handle challenges or unexpected issues
* Participation in training and social activities inside and outside the working day and office. Contribution to the "character" of the company by conducting yourself in a professional and helpful manner.
* To develop strong and collaborative working relationships with your colleagues
* Demonstrate you have a working knowledge and skill in using design spread sheets etc.as necessary and the ability to handle data appropriate to your role.

Your new role joining this business will be titled QC Supervisor, working within the Quality Department being the 'go to' support for two QC Operatives.

For you to be successful in your new role you will be confident in:

* Efficient operation of QC processes to ensure the availability of finished product for delivery or stock and raw materials for production
* Monitor GMP / hygiene compliance in production areas and warehouse
* Assist production to achieve quality & GMP compliance.
* Maintain supplier approval documentation, raise and track supplier non-conformances
* Maintenance of the calibration program
* Logging non-conformances and implementing initial corrective action
* Reviewing the quarantine area on a regular basis to ensure progression of resolution
* Assisting with QC activities
* Final product inspection to ensure compliance of product with ISO9000, PS9000 and customer requirements.
* Filing system for samples and documentation to ensure quick retrieval
* Planning company resources for the future; input for QC activity and testing equipment replacements
* Critical QC decisions possibly impacting upon the customer.
* Prioritisation of workload to ensure that release dates are maintained

Your Daily Tasks and Responsibilities will be:

* Liaising with production / warehouse regarding priorities for release
* Monitoring progression of jobs for release and prioritising to meet delivery requirements
* Assisting production in the non-conformance process to ensure that information and samples are collected as necessary
* Deciding on disposition of non-conforming product and ensuring clear identification, liaising with Production Supervisor regarding rework requirements
* Supporting production in both quality and GMP requirements
* Quarantining any product which does not pass batch release processes
* Supporting production in both quality and GMP requirements

* Raising and tracking supplier non-conformances

Our Client, a leading Pharmaceutical manufacturing and Pharmaceutical distributor are looking to recruit for an experience Senior Regulatory Executive (SRE) to work at their modern site near to Watford; the SRE will play a vital role in the preparation and submission of documentation, as well as management of the regulatory function/s.

Reporting to the RA Manager:

  • Assisting in the preparation and review of dossiers for applications and ensure timely submission of the applications.
  • Assisting in the preparation and review of dossiers for variation applications, renewals and other regulatory submissions (DCP, MR or national) and ensure the timely submission of applications
  • Assisting in the preparation and review of response/s to requests for further information from regulatory authorities
  • Preparing or reviewing of national submission packages after the close of procedures
  • Liaising with regulatory authorities when required
  • Maintaining the product life cycle once the licence is approved

Your New Role


Reporting to the Head of Installations and Support Services, your pivotal role as our IT Support Analyst will be to provide effective 1st Line Support to our customers. The position is primarily focussed on reporting and resolving issues related to kiosks, digital signage and our inhouse application software. You will also be responsible for fault finding and identification of hardware issues, with either PC or Kiosk peripherals and working with Field Service Engineers to resolve faults. Your role provides exposure to a broad range of client installations and requires wide-ranging IT skills, including the ability to prioritise workload and communicate to customers.

Your Key Duties and Responsibilities


- Provide 1st Line Support for all customer issues raised via telephone or email.
- Creation of support tickets on Google Doc and in Help Desk system.
- Communication to Customers, 2nd Line Support and Field Service Engineers.
- Provide a professional response to customers in a timely manner.
- Resolution of Software issues, including escalation and management of issues to 2nd line support.
- Organisation of replacement hardware with Operations Team.
- Awareness of SLA's when resolving issues.
- Maintenance of a knowledge base.
- Provide support to Operations Team during kiosk installations.
- Proactively monitor health of kiosk installations.
- Preparing documents, helpdesk reports and correspondence as required.
- Performing administrative support duties, as required, to meet specific operational objectives
- Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as requested by Heads of Departments
- Ensure that a high level of customer service and support is provided to all customers.

Your New Role as our Supply Chain Coordinator will mainly comprise of three important objective:

* Improving our current purchasing systems and identifying areas of improvement
* Providing key data and support to the purchasing manager and the business
* Helping the company to save money and improving its supply chain and stock management.
* Always keeping on top of purchase orders and respond to run rates and expedite and de-expedite as required
* Support the Purchasing Manager to do the regular buys and creating and sending purchase orders to suppliers.


Immediate Responsibilities and Hot Projects

* Design and implement methods to gather and manage supply chain, stock and purchasing data
* Develop an efficient reporting process and help support the reporting through the Data Analytics Warehouse
* Review our current purchasing arrangements and identify opportunities for improvement
* Develop effective working relationships with the key resources in the business.
* Develop and implement a Material Requirement Planning system to enable a more accurate and reliable purchasing function with the help of the purchasing manager and IT.
* Partner with existing suppliers and developing effective working relationships
* Assess, manage and mitigate current and anticipated risks.
* Seek and partner with counterparts at suppliers to ensure effective supply of products
* Work effectively with the Planning Manager and Production Manager to manage and respond with demands.
* Work effectively with our New Product Development Team and Technical Team to onboard new raw materials, packaging and consumables that are required to support and grow the business.
* Coordinating with third party packers and warehouse providers to deliver an efficient service.
* Support the planning manager as and when required
* Own the supply chain function with the help of the purchasing manager
* Staying familiar with the company's purchasing needs and keep on top of orders
* Coordinating with various suppliers to get delivery updates and providing real time info to the business
* Regular daily communication to the wider team in terms of supplier performance and stock delivery performance
* Overseeing supply chain management and ensure that products are arriving effectively and on time.
* Communicating with suppliers and to make sure supplies get where they need to be when they need to be, even when a deadline is tight
* Forecasting demand for certain products and makes orders accordingly, especially depending on lead times.
* Checking inventory, tracks how inventory is used, and adjusts purchasing habits in accord with apparent trends, and ensuring regular reporting
* Ensuring that suppliers invoices are being processed in good time.
* Keeping a well-organised collection of contracts and purchase orders for easy reference when needed
* Attending meetings to stay up to date on the company's objectives


For you to be successaful in your new role as our Supply Chain Coordinator you will have proven experience in the following areas:

* Clear and proven experience as a Supply Analyst
* Proven experience and an impressive track record handling 100s of SKUs
* Strong knowledge in supply chain management
* Highly organised and excellent verbal, written and numerical skills

The Role:

  • Running HPLC, GC and IC following methodology provided, troubleshooting issues that arise
  • Performing wet chemistry techniques, including titrations, FP, pH, KF, KV and density

  • Recording and reporting data within the quality system- completing documents and spreadsheets accurately and in full
  • Reporting results in a timely fashion under direction and priority

  • We are looking for people with prior training, supervisory/coaching experience in a testing GMP accredited lab; again in an Chemical/ Fuels testing lab.

The role is multi skilled elec/mech and we are ideally looking for the electrical bias (preferred).


Your Key Responsibilities for your new role:

* Involved with planned, preventative and reactive maintenance procedures. This involves fault finding in all aspects of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and process problems.
* Monitor the dynamic performance of new and current machinery, carrying out adjustments and maintenance on a continuing basis and suggest improvements.
* Preventative Maintenance of machinery to the highest order to ensure smooth operation running and minimise downtime. * Fault Find, diagnose defects and undertake effect repair and evaluate results. * Identify and order correct spare parts from different sources and communicate this information across levels. *Attend machine breakdowns in a timely manner and in conjunction with Production Supervisor/Production Manager ensure work is prioritised to keep machine down time to a minimum.
* Assist with the installation/implementation of machine improvements and projects.
* Be available for over-time and call-outs when required.
* To carry out other duties as may be required from time to time as directed by the Engineering Supervisor.
* Identify health and safety risks and ensure that the plant and equipment is maintained in a safe working order and that safe working practices are followed at all times.
* Hold a recognised Engineering qualification and preferably apprentice trained.

Role:

  • Take the lead role in the development and validation of Capillary electrophoresis-based assays for Antibodies and Antibody Drug Conjugates
  • Performance and reporting of analytical testing on, intermediates, finished products and stability samples in capillary electrophoretic methods
  • Preparation and execution of laboratory protocols and reports, as assigned.
  • Qualification of reagents and reference materials,

  • In addition, following the completion of training and qualification, the performance of Analytical testing using a variety of techniques including:
        • HPLC (SEC, HIC, PLRP etc);
        • ELISA;

  • At least 4 years' experience in an analytical testing laboratory and experience of working in a regulated environment, pharmaceutical or medical laboratory in a related role to cGMP or within alternative quality system (UKAS/ISO 9001) such as Contract testing laboratory.
  • Technical experience in Capillary Electrophoresis analysis of Biomolecules is essential.
  • Technical experience in techniques such as HPLC, Cell culture, Immunoassays, UV,MS is an advantage.
  • Good understanding and application of cGMP and regulatory requirements including USP, PhEur, Orange guide and Current ICH guidelines applicable to the role.
